If your Huebsch (or Speed Queen) dryer drum continues to spin while the door is open, immediately unplug the dryer or turn off the circuit breaker.
The drum continuing to spin when the door opens usually points to one of two electrical failures: 1. Defective Door Switch. The Problem: The door switch acts as an electrical safety brake. When the door opens, the switch is supposed to cut power to the drive motor. If the switch lever breaks or the internal contacts fuse together, the machine acts as if the door is permanently closed.
2. Welded Motor Relay (Control Board)The Problem: Modern electronic Huebsch dryers use a control board with a motor relay to start and stop the motor. Over time, the electrical contacts inside this relay can get stuck or “welded” together from normal wear and tear. When this happens, it constantly supplies power to the motor, entirely bypassing the door switch
